About Opera House Buxton

Buxton Opera House stands on The Square in Derbyshire and seats 902. Its programme includes the annual Buxton Festival and the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, alongside pantomime at Christmas and musicals through the year. The building has a layered past: live shows ran until 1927, it was mostly a cinema until 1976, and it reopened for live performance after a refurbishment in 1979.

Current bookings lean towards rock and pop, with seven shows listed and two of them in the next 30 days. Headliners coming up include Alison Moyet, The Stylistics, Boyzlife, Whitney Queen of the Night, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, What's Love Got to Do With It - Tina Turner Tribute and The Bootleg Beatles. Shows usually start around 19:30.
