About Opera House, Manchester
The Opera House on Quay Street is a Grade II listed theatre seating 1,920, and one of the main houses in Manchester. It hosts touring musicals, ballet, concerts and a Christmas pantomime, and shares its parent company, Ambassador Theatre Group, with the Palace Theatre on Oxford Street.
The programme currently leans towards rock, pop, and indie and alternative acts. Dexy's Midnight Runners are the next headliner listed, followed by Emeli Sande, Rick Wakeman, Vanessa Williams, The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir, a Tina Turner tribute show called What's Love Got to Do With It, and Damien Rice. Shows usually start around 19:00, so an early evening arrival suits most nights.
