About Portsmouth Guildhall
Portsmouth Guildhall stands in a pedestrian square in the middle of the city, a short walk from Portsmouth and Southsea station. Built in 1890 as the town hall, it took its current name in 1926. The building was badly bombed in the Second World War and largely rebuilt in the 1950s by Ernest Berry Webber, and it is now Grade II listed. Alongside concerts it also hosts weddings and conferences.
Current programme leans towards pop, rock, and electronic and dance acts. Twelve shows are listed, three of them in the next 30 days. Upcoming headliners include Boyzlife, The Amy Winehouse Band, The Proclaimers, Squeeze, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Rick Wakeman, The Snuts, and Sex Pistols & Frank Carter. Shows usually start around 19:00.
