About Simmon's Bar - Leicester Square
Simmon's Bar takes its address from Leicester Square, the pedestrianised heart of London's West End entertainment district. The square was laid out in 1670 as Leicester Fields, and over the centuries it was home first to gentry and artists such as Hogarth and Reynolds, before shifting towards theatres and then the cinemas that now host film premieres. It remains a busy tourist draw, with events such as Chinese New Year celebrations.
