St Paul's Church Covent Garden

About St Paul's Church Covent Garden

St Paul's is a Church of England parish church on Bedford Street in Covent Garden. Inigo Jones designed it in 1631 as part of a commission for the 4th Earl of Bedford. It began as an auxiliary chapel for St Martin-in-the-Fields and became a parish church in its own right in 1646, as the surrounding district grew. Nicknamed the actors' church, it has long been tied to the theatre community of the West End.
