About Stockport Plaza
The Plaza is a Grade II* listed art deco cinema and theatre in Stockport, opened in 1932. Its construction involved excavating the sandstone cliff behind the building. After closing in 1966 and a spell as a bingo hall, it was restored to show films and stage live shows. As a single-screen house, it gives films and live performance a focused setting.
Five shows are listed, with one in the next 30 days. The soonest headliners are What's Love Got to Do With It, a Tina Turner tribute, followed by Michael Starring Ben, Whitney Queen of the Night and Classically Kate Bush. Shows usually start around 19:30, and tickets are seen from £27.50.
