About Tivoli Theatre Company Ltd
The Tivoli is a theatre in Aberdeen that opened in 1872 as Her Majesty's Theatre, designed by James Matthews and the London-based Charles Phipps. Frank Matcham rebuilt its auditorium in 1897, and after a temporary closure in 1906, when the larger His Majesty's Theatre opened, he reconstructed it again in 1909. It re-opened as the Tivoli in July 1910 and was refurbished once more in 1938.
