K.O has announced a new single, “SHUMI”, featuring Ladysmith rapper Blue Pappi, with the song due for release this Friday. The announcement was reported by sahiphopmag.co.za on 21 October 2026.

According to that report, the founder of The Skhanda World shared the news on social media. His post read: “NEW SINGLE OUT THIS FRIDAY!” and ended with the line “Summer shuuuuun”. The release is framed as a summer record.

Artwork and what is known

The teaser showed the single's cover art. SA Hip Hop Mag describes it as the silhouette of a woman with a full afro, hands adorned and resting on her shoulders, against a warm yellow background. The title runs across the lower part in bold green, red and gold lettering.

Beyond the artwork and the release timing, little has been made public. SA Hip Hop Mag notes that details of the song's production and lyrical direction remain limited.

Two artists, two stages of career

The single arrives as K.O marks two decades in the music industry in 2026. SA Hip Hop Mag notes that earlier this year he reflected on his journey with “20 Summers” and then joined Danya Devs and Scotts Maphuma on “Hotela”, which the outlet describes as a groove-driven track. It also ties his name to Cashtime and the Skhanda sound.

Blue Pappi is a member of the Qwellers collective. SA Hip Hop Mag describes him as one of the promising names of a new generation in South African hip-hop, citing his introspective songwriting, melodic delivery and habit of blending Zulu and English. His catalogue includes the 2025 album Emadlelweni Aluhlaza, whose title translates as “green pastures”, the Road to Ehlane EP and the more recent mixtape EHLANE. The report also lists collaborations with Sjava, Blxckie, Ma-E and Young Stunna.

SA Hip Hop Mag presents the pairing as a meeting of generations, setting K.O's established delivery against Blue Pappi's melodic approach. How that plays out on record will only be clear once “SHUMI” is released.
