About Die Feisten
Die Feisten sit at the point where song meets sketch. The duo of Mathias Zeh and Rainer Schacht grew out of the Göttingen trio Ganz Schön Feist and has worked as a pair since 2013, writing its own material and accompanying itself. The act calls its style ZweiMannSongComedy and keeps the arrangements spare: acoustic guitar and bass, mandolin, sitar, timple, cajón, ukulele, bass box and udu, or voices alone a cappella. Their albums have appeared on their own label, Hüa Music, since 2007, distributed by Soulfood Music Distribution.
Their debut CD, Versuchslabor, appeared in 2013 and reflects that stripped-back stage sound. In June 2014 a live recording of "Kriech nich da rein", posted to YouTube, brought them wider attention; it borrows the melody of Udo Jürgens' "Griechischer Wein" to satirise German office life. A reworked edition, Versuchslabor – 100 % feist, followed in 2015, and Nussschüsselblues (2016) consists entirely of live recordings. The double live set Adam & Eva (Live) came out in August 2018 with 18 tracks across two CDs. In 2017 they won the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis in the chanson/song/music category, and later the Kleinkunstpreis Baden-Württemberg (2022). Radio Uwe & Claus (2021) and Familienfest (Live) (2025) followed.
