Fakemink, the rapper and producer, is credited with popularising the UK underground rap scene. Born Vincenzo Nischal Camille Bhatia in Ilford, East London, in January 2005, he was raised in Basildon, Essex, with Indian Punjabi and Algerian roots. He began making beats at nine on a pirated copy of FL Studio from his father's hard drive. His sound has been described as a softer take on the jerk microgenre, though he does not count himself part of it, and Pitchfork heard his viral single "Easter Pink" as bloghouse meeting cloud rap.

He began under the name 9090gate, and his first Spotify release, "Tropical Remix", was a collaboration with fellow British rapper EsDeeKid. His debut mixtape, London's Saviour, arrived in December 2023, shortly before he adopted the Fakemink name, and 2024 brought more than fifty singles. A surprise appearance by Drake at the Wireless Festival in London in July 2025 raised his profile, and Playboi Carti later invited him on stage at the Crypto.com Arena. The EP The Boy Who Cried Terrified followed in January 2026, leading to his debut album Terrified, released on 22 May 2026.
