Daniel Caesar has cancelled his Australian arena tour, giving health reasons, and two shows in Hawaii have been called off with it. The run was due to open on Thursday 5 November.

The itinerary included two nights in Sydney on 5 and 6 November, two in Melbourne on 8 and 9 November, and a closing show in Brisbane on 12 November. Caesar confirmed the news in a statement on his Instagram stories.

"Unfortunately the Son of Spergy Australia and Hawaii shows are cancelled until further notice, due to health reasons. Refunds will be available at your original point of purchase. Thank you all for your understanding and support."

Refunds and what is not known

Ticket holders for the affected dates are directed to the place where they bought their tickets. Caesar has not said what the health issue is, and there is no word on whether any of the shows will be rescheduled. He has further international dates booked later this year, and whether those are affected has not been confirmed.

A first arena run in Australia

The tour was announced in August behind his fourth studio album, Son of Spergy. It would have been the Grammy-winning singer's first headline arena tour of Australia. His previous visit came in 2023, with shows at Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.

Son of Spergy entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 and went to the top of the Billboard R&B Albums chart, making it the highest-charting release of his career. It was recorded largely in Jamaica and features Sampha, Bon Iver, Blood Orange, Yebba and Caesar's father, Norwill Simmonds. Its themes include family, accountability and the singer's changing relationship with his parents.

The cancellation was detailed by Rolling Stone Australia.
