Orbital announce 11th album Other for March 2027 with Maxine Peake single and tour
The Hartnoll brothers' new studio album arrives on London Records on 19 March 2027. The first single, 'Mother, Maiden & Crone', features Maxine Peake, and a spring tour opens in Dublin.

Orbital will release their 11th studio album, Other, on multiple formats through London Records on 19 March 2027, according to Louder Than War. The first single, 'Mother, Maiden & Crone', is available now and features the English actor Maxine Peake.
The track draws on witchcraft and folklore. Louder Than War's account describes gothic synthesiser lines and vocals from Peake with a séance-like quality. It is the duo's first new material since Optical Delusion (2023).
An album about otherness
Other is described as exploring otherness, including neurodiversity, identity and outsiders, and the freedom to exist outside society's set categories. The source says the album moves through gothic folk, drum & bass, punk and ambient music alongside Orbital's electronic sound.
The announcement frames the record as part of a wider pattern: Paul and Phil Hartnoll, the Kent-born brothers behind Orbital, have not confined themselves to a single genre or to the label 'dance music'.
Chart context
Optical Delusion reached No. 6 on the UK Official Albums Chart, which the source says was Orbital's first UK Top 10 album since Middle Of Nowhere in 1999. It also reached No. 1 on the Official Dance Albums Chart.
The source adds that the 2024 reissue of their debut album, The Green Album, and this year's Glastonbury 1994, the first official release of their festival set from that year, also topped the Dance Albums Chart.
The Other Tour
Orbital's spring 2027 tour, billed as The Other Tour, is described as an extensive UK and European run. It begins at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on 8 April, followed by Limerick and Belfast. UK dates then run from Northampton on 13 April to London's British Airways ARC on 24 April, taking in Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Frome, Birmingham and Bournemouth. The European leg runs from Amsterdam on 29 April to Copenhagen on 4 May, with stops in Paris, Brussels and Berlin.
A pre-sale starts at 10am on Wednesday 21 October, with general sale at 10am on Friday 23 October. Pre-sale buyers can pre-order a tour-exclusive 2LP + 1CD edition of Other with alternative artwork featuring an unticked 'Other' box, which Paul or Phil Hartnoll will tick by hand. That edition can be ordered from 10am on 15 October until 11.59pm UK time on 22 October.
The announcement says further news from Orbital is due soon.
