Olamide releases Burukutu, sampling Tinubu's 'enjoy your weekend' remark

Nigerian rapper Olamide has released a new single, Burukutu, which samples President Bola Tinubu's "enjoy your weekend" remark. Legit.ng reports that the track came out on Tuesday through YBNL, Olamide's label, and is part of his forthcoming album, Time And Space.

A music video directed by TG Omori accompanies the release. Legit.ng describes Omori as a renowned Nigerian video director.

The sample

According to Legit.ng, the president's phrase has become familiar to many Nigerians, and its use on Burukutu has drawn attention to the song. The report does not say how the sample is used within the track, such as where it falls in the arrangement or how often it appears. Those details are not covered here.
