Jake Bugg has put out 'Day By Day', a new single from his seventh album 'Alamo', and has booked a third night at London's Union Chapel on 27 February 2027. Dork reported the news on 15 October 2026.

The extra show sits alongside two Union Chapel dates on 25 and 26 February, both of which are marked as sold out. The venue run closes a February 2027 solo tour of the UK and Ireland.

The single and the album

Dork describes 'Day By Day' as built around acoustic fingerpicking. According to the report, its lyrics deal with perseverance, uncertainty and the effort of making sense of the world, and with carrying on through good periods and bad ones.

'Alamo' has 11 tracks and is due on 13 November 2026 through Thirty Tigers. Dork notes that it is Bugg's first album as an independent artist, following a career on major labels. Jimmy Hogarth produced it with Steve McKewan. Dork lists Hogarth's credits as including Anohni, Amy Winehouse and Paolo Nutini, and McKewan's as including Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Eminem.

The earlier release 'Never Can Tell' also appears on the record. Dork says the album returns Bugg to the roots, blues, rock and folk influences of his earlier work.

The February tour

The stripped-back run starts at Manchester's Albert Hall on 6 February. It also visits Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gateshead, Sheffield, Liverpool, Bristol and Nottingham, where Bugg plays the Royal Concert Hall on 23 February, which Dork describes as a hometown show. Five of the dates were already sold out when Dork published its report: Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and the first two Union Chapel nights.

The tour follows a run of 20 UK in-store appearances in November. Formats vary by date and include acoustic sets, Q&As and signings, and Dork reports that several of those shows have also sold out.
